Today’s featured product is our #SOCIETYISINSANE tee from the Society Is Insane, Follow your Wave FW17 collection. Our shirt includes a black logo featuring the words “Society is Insane” with a small Buddha sitting below as a tribute to the Buddhist culture. In Buddhism, a Buddha is a title, much like Christ, and is given to someone who has achieved enlightenment (universal knowledge). Buddhism, the spiritual religion from which the Buddha figured derives from, is of Indian origin and has been practiced by many people for centuries. Our logo, “#SOCIETYISINSANE” is a reference to a quote said by Buddha 2500 years ago. Today it seems like not much has changed. Clothing is an extension of expression for the person who is wearing it, so express yourself. Connect with our clothes, and always invoke thought into what you do. Bless up!

ELABEW COFFEEHOUSE POP UP

The city of Los Angeles hosts an interactive artwalk every first Thursday of the month in the downtown district. Culture Angels LA was recently invited by Elabrew Coffeehouse to come out and vendor at their artwalk night.

Our setup featured a small clothing racked holding various sizes/style options paired with a small coffee table featuring images from our FW 16 #READY4WAR lookbook.

Also available were business cards, limited edition stickers and buttons personally designed by yours truly.

Here at Culture Angels LA, we aspire to provide the consumer with the details and creativity needed to boost their minds, and collective thinking power.

All in all the evening boasted a relaxed, laidback vibe that kept the flow moving and inquiring minds intrigued by our brand wandering over for discussions.

A special shoutout for the crew at Elabrew Coffeehouse who kept everyone full of piping hot ginger tea and coffee!

On April 15th, my creative collective “The Canvas’ hosted an interactive cultural social event featuring local musicians, vendors from the community, a dine-in experience provided by a locally owned taco truck, and crowd giveaways. The Canvas is a creative collective formed by me and two business partners of mines created to provide a platform for local creatives to express their artform whether it be via music, clothing brands, food, art, etc. We aim to encourage the people to circulate their energy and dollar within their respective communities by purchasing from local brand owners, eating at local food mobiles/dine-ins, supporting local music and other various art forms. The Canvas have hosted a number of events in the past, but our latest endeavour has been encompassed with #ONTHERISE, symbolizing the rebirth of nature in the spring and promoting local up and coming talent from the community. We also had a couple of vendors come through to sell their merch to the locals. One of those vendors was my own clothing brand, Culture Angels LA. I met a lot of different people from all walks of path that night, and was able to share my message of empowering ourselves through information, knowledge, collective awareness and application. My clothing brand represents these ideals among others, and I always marvel at the chance to share that message in person with others. The night was filled with plenty of great conversation, drinks, live art painting/installation, and of course music. Elishia Shaire hit the stage with an electrifying performance Our ‘#CanvasCypher’ pumped the crowd up with authentic flows and creative lyrical content It’s always a good thing to provide support from one platform to another. Shoutout to the various vendors who helped hold the fort down with me. This live art installation was performed by #TheManWhoLovedFlowers whose instagram can be found HERE. I am a lover of sunflowers and flowers in general, so his piece resonated with me in a way that left me with a smile when I finished observing the art. A special shoutout must be given to my friend LaSalle Thomas, who executed this piece live during our event. The piece was donated to The Canvas, and is now stored at my studio :) . All in all I must say the night was wonderful, and I especially enjoyed the tacos provided for by our local taco truck (located in Boyle Heights, CA--the name of the business escapes me but I can be contacted if any reader would like additional information regarding their services.) and their staff. Here’s a wrap up video from SPLASHTHECANVAS.COM
